About the Event

In 2024, Redmond’s residential population surpassed 80,000, and the City of Redmond recently adopted plans to support a population of 118,000 in 2050. These plans, called “Redmond 2050,” envision a community that has successfully woven the small town feel of established neighborhoods with the energy and vitality of Redmond’s centers. A place where people are friendly and feel comfortable and connected. A place where diversity and innovation are embraced, and collaborative action is taken to achieve community objectives. A place that is home to people from diverse backgrounds, which contributes to the richness of the city’s culture.

Join the City’s long-range planning manager, Jeff Churchill, for a discussion on how Redmond’s past shapes its future. Jeff will share from some of Redmond’s earliest planning documents and describe how―in some ways―the more things change, the more they stay the same.
